Dreambrook Lady and Justazippy closely matched for 32Red.com Mares’ Handicap Hurdle
Dreambrook Lady and Justazippy are expected to have a tough fight in the 32Red.com Mares’ Handicap Hurdle at Doncaster in England on Friday, March 2, 2012. The class-3 event has a cash prize money of £4,549.
A total of five runners have been attracted towards the 2 mile 110 yard event, which will start at 4:15 (GMT). The confirmed entries are: Dreambrook Lady, Aegean Destiny, Justazippy, Doynosaur and Chicklemix.
Dreambrook Lady has entered six hurdles in her career so far, winning a couple of them. Although the strike rate is not much impressive, she has been in very good form recently. This helped her gain the confidence of the bookmakers.
The six-year-old mare was favourite for her last outing at Huntingdon and she lived up to the expectations of everyone. She stormed to victory and did not allow any other runner to come closer, winning by seven lengths.
Jeremy Scott’s trained runner will be partnered by Nick Scholfield, who has earned 82 victories over hurdles in his career. He will be eying another strong showing today.
The race favourite runner will be given a tough time by Justazippy, who has done exceptionally well over hurdles. She has entered three of such events, winning a couple of them and finishing runner up on one occasion.
This indicates that the five-year-old mare has very good momentum and will be a force to reckon today. The punters will be interested in placing a lot of bets on her, as she likes running over the hurdles.
Renee Robeson’s trained mare will be partnered by Sam Jones, who has 32 hurdle victories to his name until now.
Aegean Destiny, trained by John Mackie, might also manage to do well over hurdles. She has taken part in three of such events, winning one of them. Other than that she also has one third place finish to her name, which means that there was only one occasion,
where she failed to end up in the top three.
The five-year-old mare will be partnered by Peter Carberry, who has got a decent experience over hurdles, winning 17 of them until now.
There will be a close fight between the top three favourites of this race, but Dreambrook Lady and Justazippy have the best chances of winning at Doncaster today.
