Dreambrook Lady favourite for Domenico Adorno 85th Birthday Novices’ Handicap Hurdle
Dreambrook Lady has earned a general starting price of 9 to 4 for the Domenico Adorno 85th Birthday Novices’ Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon in England on Thursday, February 23, 2012.
A total of 13 runners have been attracted to the class-4 event, which has a winning cash prize of £2,534. Although the race is expected to be competitive, Dreambrook Lady has been rated as the favourite entry by the bookmakers.
The six-year-old mare has entered five hurdles in her career until now, winning one of them. Other than that, she has not been able to make a big impression, which will give a chance to the other runners as well.
Jeremy Scott’s trained mare will be partnered by jokey, Nick Scholfield, today. The veteran has won 80 hurdles in his career so far and will be aiming to improve his record further.
Dreambrook Lady seems to like the Huntingdon track, as her only victory came at this venue on Friday, January 13, this year. She was rated favourite for that event as well and lived up to expectations of everyone.
However, Drumlang has the potential of stopping the race favourite from winning. He has been awarded with a starting price of 4 to 1 and the punters will interested in investing some money on him.
The six-year-old gelding has taken part in six hurdles until now and has got a couple of victories to his name. He has been trained by veteran, Ian Williams, who has enjoyed plenty of success in recent times.
Harry Skelton will be the jockey partnering Drumlang for today’s race. He will be hopeful of a strong show, as his record in such events is pretty much impressive.
Other than the top two favourites, Dynamic Idol is also expected to deliver a good result at Huntingdon. The five-year-old gelding has not won any hurdle out of three attempts so far, but he does have the potential of doing so.
Out of his three outings, Dynamic Idol has been able to secure a third place finish once. However, his trainer, Gary Moore, will be hoping for a victory today. His horse will be ridden by the seasoned jockey, Jamie Moore, who has got 132 hurdle victories
to his name.
Overall, the top two favourites seem to be in a very good momentum and a fight between them for race victory is likely today.
