Question:

Dreaming as a form of ESP?

I have this theory that what we call "dreams" and "deja vu" are really misfirings of an extra sensory process system in our brains that is in the very begining of evolutional development. I have no proof to support this what so ever but seems like an interesting idea. Has any research been done on this? What do you guys think?

  1. I dont buy it. I dreamt last night that I was searching for a magic mushroom to scare away the giant bananas that were taking over the town. I am not putting my money on this being a precognition.

  2. People have long held the belief that the mind is more open to unexplained phenomena in dreams because of the rational/logical blocks being gone. In other words in your dreams you usually don't examine and debate your ability to fly you just accept it and fly.

The only dream ESP work that I am aware of is reported in

the book "Dream Telepathy: Experiments in Nocturnal Extrasensory Perception" by Monatgue Ullman and Stanley Krippner.

Also, doing a search on the website of the

    Parapsychological Association http://www.parapsych.org

will turn up some articles. Dr. Krippner also has a link to his personal web site from there and his web pages includes some articles on his dream/ESP work.

    Michael John Weaver, M.S.

  3. Well all animals have dreams, so there goes that theory.

  4. Perhaps life is just a" dream within a dream"Maybe "deja vu"is just life/dream repeating itself.Is this answer being written in your life or mine?What's real?Is anything?Am I plagerizing?I don't know!

  5. You're sort of on the right tract --- it isn't all ESP, sometimes it just helps us categorize the c**p that happens through the day, etc.

  6. Dreams are merely our brain sorting out the days activities. As far as Deja Vu, the phenomena exists due to what I refer to as the "Aha" factor ( I stole that). I'm sure you are familiar with losing your keys and making a frantic search, and then finding them where they were supposed to be all along you experience relief, and the "Aha" feeling as if you should have known.

Deja Vu is similar. You are in a new place, or experiencing something new, when the brain misfires and triggers the "Aha" feeling.

You don't have to jump right to paranormal explanation when a logical one will do. As a matter of fact, you never have to jump to a paranormal explanation. There is ALWAYS a logical explanation, you just have to find it.

P.S. I'll let you in on a secret. I know who built the ancient Egyptian Pyramids.

Shhh, don't tell anyone, nooo it wasn't space aliens, give up?

    It was the ancient Egyptians.

Wow a logical explanation without the paranormal! And it's a fact too! :-)

  7. Neural interference is called when an external source of energy tap into your dreams with any kind of porpoise
