Okay, this might be a wierd one....Lately I have been experiencing the same type of dream.....I'll be dreaming that I am dreaming in my sleep and im trying to wake myself up, but I can't. I am always dreaming about bad things, but it's never the same thing each time it happens to me. In my dream I start kicking and screaming trying to get someone to go help me, but no one comes. finally, I think i'm wake, but then it starts all over again...I start dreaming about the same thing, but it's a different variation of it. This will happen multiple times and then I finally wake up. I don't know what it is or why I am dreaming within a dream and trying to wake up like that, but it's starting to worry me because it's been happening a lot lately. Can someone please help me with this wierd dream...?????

  1. Dreaming about dreaming means that you are really emotionally upset about something that is going on or happening to you right now. Because, in your dream, you are kicking and screaming and trying to get someone to help you, means that you really wish someone would notice what you are going through and/or that you are trying to tell someone but they are not listening.

  2. This is a common occurrence. It's called false awakening. This usually happen when a person is anticipating something the next morning that they are planning the event till they fall asleep thus is weighing heavy on the unconscious mind.  Then as soon as you think you are doing, you do something to prove you are dreaming or wake up in your dream and perform things to reassure you are awake, when in actuality you are still asleep. This is what we do when we have lucid dreams. But then in that dream we end up doing extra ordinary things, and then we feel that we are still dreaming, and we try to wake ourselves up again. Thus we repeat in our lucid dream, trying to wake ourselves. (Hmmm... sounds like a nice premise for a movie.... lol... there are a lot of movies done already with that idea)

You might be worrying or thinking too much as you are trying to fall asleep. If you are, I would give you the same advice as Bob Newhart gave in one the show he was in... Stop it!  just sort of kidding. But in some truth aspect to it, try to relax your mind when you are trying to fall asleep. Also, we have this type of dreams, the same with sleep paralysis, when we are lying flat on our back. I don't know if you notice it. So, why don't you try to sleep on your side if you haven't been doing it so far. It usually works for me.
