About 3 months ago, my grandma, who i call Nana, passed away from breast cancer.

The day she passed was so heartbreaking, and what hurt the most was that i saw the whole thing.

Im not gonna explain the whole story, because its a little on the long side, and i dont wanna cry explaining it. Basically when she passed away she had a favorite doll called Madeline, you might know her from the movies, the little girl who got her appendix taken out and she has the little scar on her tummy? [: Anyway it was her favorite doll, and when she died it was laying next to her, and the first thing that happened was my uncle took the doll from next to her and came over to me and gave it to me and said 'i think nana would want you to have this' so i took it and held it for 2 days straight without letting it go once.

From then on, i had 3 dreams of her.

Two of them she communicated with me, and one time she was just there.

The first dream i had was of the night she passed away, and i was holding the madeline doll when i went to sleep. That night i was really upset and stuff, so i was sleeping with my mom, and i had the doll between us. So in my dream i woke up, and i saw my nana laying there just looking at me smiling and she was just like, glowing with happiness. Then she said 'hi lauren" and i said 'nana? what are you doing here' and she laughed and said, 'i have no room' and i said 'what do you mean' and she said 'i dont have enough room' and i said 'what are you talking about' and she looked at me and she said 'im laying between you and your mom' and i seemed a little shocked, and i asked her 'where's madeline?' and she said 'for you, i am madeline'

and then i woke up.

My second dream was that i was at my friend kristen's birthday party, which was strange because she was having a birthday party in a few days at her house. In the dream i was at my old house, and my grandma was there, and she was in the kitchen. Im guessing she was making the food for my friends birthday party. I dont really remeber the conversation, but i know that we were talking. I remember what she was wearing, her little slippers and comfy sweat pants and a plain sweater, just like she would always wear when she was cooking in the kitchen [:

My third dream i didnt communicate with her. In my dream i was at her house, and i was walking down the hallway that lead into the dining room. The living room was connected to the dining room so i remember that my grandpa, and a few other members of my family were sitting in there by the fire just talking. I walked into the dining room, and i saw my grandma there and she was wearing a white night gown, just like she would always wear to bed. i saw her and she was just standing there, looking at me and then looking around and i yelled 'Nana?!' and my family looked at me, and i said 'Everyone, Nana's here, shes right here, can you see her?' and they all looked at and said 'lauren shes not here, what are you talking about?' and then i started crying and screaming something like 'shes here, i see her, why dont you believe me' and then i looked back to my nana, and she was gone. This dream makes alot of sense to me, because im the only person in my family who has had a dream about her where she talked to me, and no one else has seen her or talked to her yet.

I personally think that in all 3 dreams she was contacting me in someway, but i wanna know what you think or if you have had a dream about someone you know thats passed away.

Any thoughts or stories would be great, thanks[:

  1. I'v had dreams like yours, my grandma passed away 5 years ago this year and I'm the first to admit that her death was shocking and very hard on me, she was my favorite person.  I felt her the night we found out she had passed away, but then I felt like she was far away for a long time.  The dreams I'v had of her she doesn't communicate with me but I think that that's pretty special that you'r grandma communicated with you in your dream.  I don't think at least for me that it was all in my mind, I believe that the ones we love the most, and that we can no longer be with come to us when they know we'r hurting.  I still haven't figured out the meanings to my dreams but I do know that she was really there, it wasn't my imagination, she always lookes at me, I ask her questions and sometimes get mad at her I assume because in a selfish way I am mad at her for being gone but she just smiles at me and stares.  I have also felt and seen her in a way I can't explain but I know that one night she came to tell me that my G-Grandma (her mom) would be passing soon, which she did about a month later 1-11-11 and I believe my grandpa (her husband) will also be going to be with her soon, because he was taken into the hospital the same day my g-grandma passed.  At first all of this scared me or I guess just made me uneasy b/c I have never experienced that before, but now I find comfort in it, I know she's around me, all the time, and her coming to tell me about my g-grandma and grandpa in my opinion was b/c after another holiday season w/o her and all the other stresses of life, if that would have just happend out of the blue I would have been broken down pretty hard, but when it happend I knew why I had felt her.

I hope that if you enjoy seeing and feeling your grandma around you that she continues to visit and comfort you in the future, and I don't talk about this/these above story/stories very often but you should know that your not alone in having dreams like that and if it felt real to you that she was there talking to you, then I'm sure she was, and thats a pretty special experiance you should share with your family or people in general b/c your lucky to be able to still feel and see her :).

  2.  My grandma passed away this past Aug. 22, 2010,  her daughter (my mother) passed away Jan. 15, 2010,  she came into my dream last night.  I remember her givng me the sign of the cross and her beautiful face was lit up (just her face wide eye).  Next i remember sitting next to her and talking to her while she layed in bed. (i did that the last 2 yrs whenever I visited back home in Texas while she was bedridden from her illness. it was a beautiful dream (the first since her passing).  Love you Grandma and we all miss you!
