  1. I did not see the resort first hand, but I have done my research on trip advisor because it looked like a good place to go.  I was impressed by it's high rating and thought I would plan a trip there in the future.  I always do my research first.  I have looked at other opinions by going to google and typing in dreams cancun resort.  I know there are going to be good and bad regardless of the property, but have not been impressed by anything I have seen for Dreams Cancun Resort so far.

I personally have been to Cancun several times and have stayed at the Palace Resorts complexes.  In comparison, from what I have seen, the pics at Dreams Cancun Resort look nowhere near as great as the five star Palace Resorts.  Any one of the Palace Resorts looks better than Dreams.  If you'd like some more information about about Palace Resorts you can find it at http://www.dreamcancunresorts.com

In addition, if you opt in to take a cruise, you may want to check out a discount travel club membership at http://www.grntimesharediscounts.com    Although I have owned two timeshares, I came across this membership last year.  They offer great discounts on cruises, airfare, hotel stays, and timeshare properties (as low as $298 a week for family with their specials but an average of $698 a week for a four or five star resort/hotel for a family).

There is a one time up front fee to join, but after that, you get to travel to over 5,000 timeshare properties but only pay as you go.  Never a maintenance fee, etc.  AND as I said, they offer great discounts on all of the major cruise lines.  It can't hurt to take a look and compare.

As far as the wedding goes, you should go to the wedding if the person is a good friend.  That's a long way to travel and spend money on someone you barely know.

If you aren't into all inclusive you can find some great deals on other Mexican timeshare properties as the membership site I mentioned above.   A friend of mine just returned from Mayan Palace in Playa del Carmen (30 or so min from Cancun).  She paid $599 for the week for her and her husband through the membership.  (not all inclusive).  She said the place was fantastic and is booking a trip for next year.

Hope this helped at least a little bit.  Enjoy your trip whether by land or sea!

  2. go to trip advisor.com

there are many different reviews from people who have been there.

the last few that I read weren't good though so I hope its ok for you. it used to be higher on the Cancun hotel list, but has recently dropped to number 14.

    the link is below.

  3. i have stayed at dreams and i loved it.  it is a very nice resort with a wonderful view.  the beach there is not great because of the rocks, but it is beautiful.  good place to snorkle.  the rooms are great.....treated me like royalty.  the food is some of the best i have had at any resort.  forget the cruise....come to cancun and enjoy dreams.  it is also in the heart of the night life.  you can walk to all the clubs.  go to www.dreamsresorts.com and check it out.
