Dreams about smoking?

I don't know if this is common or if I am simply strange lol. I keep having dreams about smoking. I have never smoked anything before nor do I want to, but I have had multiple dreams that I am smoking. One time it was a cigarette, another time a cigar, another time weed and in my dreams I know it is wrong because I try to hide it. In one of my dreams a friend and I were on an overpass and just smoking weed. Then a cop drove by and just started talking to us like we were friends and not like we were in trouble or anything. Anyway, whenever I wake up I'm always craving something to smoke. I find this really odd because I don't smoke and no one in my family does either. So...why do I continue to dream about smoking?

maybe you have a friend that you like and they smoke so your subconscious is telling you to be like them.

its ok not to smoke and more company's will not hire you if you do so please do not start.

This feels for some reason like you are wanting attention. I don't really understand why! I feel like you are tired of not getting as much attention from someone as you want or as  much as someone else is. Feels like a need for something that you feel inside but you don't actually know what it is. So this makes me feel it is from way back.  You can't put your finger on what's missing as it would be impossible now to get it. You can't re-live the past so just have to draw a line under it and realise it wasn't about you, you are great just the way you are.

I am not sure if your friends smoke.  Even they are not, you get this idea of smoking from media like movie, TV, or just simply know the knowledge can lurk into  your subconscious mind and becomes symbol.

In your case, smoking can represent peer pressure in some cases.  Projecting yourself trying to hide it may symbolize some guilt conscience.  A cop showed up in the dream added the evidence of guilt conscience.  You may be feeling things you should not have done or do in life but you have this temptation and smoking can also be the symbol of it.

hmm thats odd. maybe you keep having it because you are thinking about the first time you had it before you go to sleep or something. but i remember once i had a dream that my mom was taking me and my sisters to walmart. there was tons of like hobos outside the walmart door just sitting around smoke only the cigaretts were all differnet sizes, some were huge. someone offered me one and i took it and started smoking. in my dream i also knew it was wrong. i dont smoke in real life either.
