I keep having these dreams about tornadoes. usually they are everywhere and we cant get away from them, sometimes i get caught up in one and then i wake up, but always its a great big unsettling feeling mixed with anticipation and dread. this has been going on for years, almost every night. I'm going to ask my psychiatrist next week about it, but i would like everyone elses input, too.

I dont think im overly stressed, i dont have a job, my husband supports both me and our little girl very well, i do however have some problems with recurring depression and anger outbursts...

  1. For about 5 years, I would have dreams of tornados off and on.  They were usually coming after me and I was running.  I thought this symbolized me running from something in my waking/real life.

Then, in one dream - the tornado was coming after me.  I laid down in a ditch and it passed right over me.  It seemed like I could even feel the suction in my dream.  Since this dream, I cannot recall anymore dreams of tornadoes - maybe I "mastered" the fear

  2. maybe it means something like a premonition or something and its a warning from god. thats what some people believe

  3. I've had several dreams about tornadoes in the past.  One day, I got curious and looked up what that might represent.  I learned that they represent change.  It made sense to me, since I had those dreams when changes were taking place in my life.  You described your feeling as being mixed with anticipation and dread.  That is the same feeling many people experience just before they try something new (a change).  Maybe you are expecting a change in your life.

  4. sounds like maybe your afraid of a tornado and the way the weather keeps changing it may have been in your  subconious mind and thats why you are dreaming of it so much!

  5. Tell the devil to stop messing with your head! I use to be like that. I was always scared of dying somehow. I would from time to time, which seemed too much, wake up to me getting shot in a nightmare. But im not so scared anymore because i believe god will keep me safe, and when i do die i will go to heaven.    *peace

  6. I used to have those every night. It was horrible. But I don't have them anymore, and weather it be a coincidence or not I am now close to God and my belief in him in strong, before it was not.
