Dreams and nightmares?

why do i forget my dreams when i wake up and remember nightmares

i think people remember nightmares much better than dreams because most of the nightmares end when you wake up pretty scared... the part with the normal dreams are that are not that terrifying... most of the dreams and nightmare are coming from the mind... when you fall asleep thinking about someone or something it happens to dram about that thing something bad or sommething good
