In the ninty-one minute opening match of the tournament, Paul Mitchell was able to win the first set. Both teams were highly competitive throughout the contest but Paul Mitchell displayed superior skill. They were given a good start by the team’s two servers,
namely Scott Damien and Budinger Jr. Duncan. They were supported by good assists and kills of team-mates Vance Eric and Patterson Casey. The only Argentinean player prominent in the first set was Sole Sebastian who put up a great defense for his team.
The second set was also aggressively contested by both the teams but Drean Bolivar were able to pin it as theirs. Lesson learnt in the first set, the Argentinean team brought on their attack in full force, giving Paul Mitchell a tough time defending. Pereyra
Federico of Drean Bolivar led his team in the attack and successfully scored several important points. Following the lead, captain Arroyo Gabriel also kept the scoreboard ticking by his amazing shots. Even though Paul Mitchell put up a good fight, they were
seen to be struggling all through the set, which they eventually lost at 27-25.
Drean Bolivar did not let go of their dominance and were relentless all through the third set as well. It seemed as if Paul Mitchell had lost their stride as they played under pressure and failed to emerge. Ocampu Locas of the Drean Bolivar played well by
scoring excellent consecutive points by repeatedly attacking Paul Mitchell’s defense lines. At no point did the Argentinean team let the match slip out of their hands and ended the set with a convincing 25-19 victory.
Paul Mitchell tried to push forward in the fourth set but the effort came too late. After two decisive wins, Drean Bolivar was in full form. They put on a great show of outstanding spikes and terrific blocking that contributed significantly towards their
