  1. Ahh the 'channel deepening project'. This started in Febuary.

The decision was made by the Federal government, with Enviromental Minister Peter Garrett's approval.

In January, the ''Queen of the Netherlands" a Dutch dredging ship arrived in Melbourne.

  2. A violtile subject along here as we see the ship and damage every day.

The decision was made 1.5 years ago but was passed by Government to occur late last year. Us local's had no say really although we were asked.

The Queen of the Netherlands arrived in Melbourne for 'testing' a year ago but went back home. Until this January when she started dredging officially in Febuary.

She still has not quiet finished but it is now a lost fight and cause as the damage to our beautiful bay and the sunken ships is already done.

I have stood on an exploded bomb shell from WW2 that was dredged up in testing and cut my foot open. Imagine what will arrrive on shore now!
