However, the 25-year old disclosed that his stay in La Liga had been marred by incidents of rows with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s Messi, and lashed out at the Argentinean’s racial behaviour.
Drenthe mentioned in an interview, “We played against each other a lot, and we always had problems. You know what really bothers me? That tone with which he always called me 'negro, negro'.”
Both the players have been involved in a number of ugly spats, when Drenthe used to play in the Spanish league.

The winger also caste light on an incident when Messi taunted him in a pre-match ceremony and refused to shake hands with him after the game.
“When I played against Barcelona with Hercules, I had the same problems with Messi again. Before the match, he gave me a hand and said, 'Hola negro'. He didn't shake my hand again after the match. I don't think he'll invite me to his birthday party.” He
