Question:

Dress attire for the Melting Pot?

My best friend's birthday is coming soon and her boyfriend decided to throw her a surprise birthday dinner party thing at the Melting Pot. The thing is, on the day of her birthday, I'll just be going home from college so even if I do make it in time for dinner with them, I'll most likely be in jeans and tshirt or polo...

My question is: Is that ok? Will I feel completely out of place?

Btw, if it makes a difference, this is the one located in Philadelphia, PA.

  1. Yeah it should be ok. I have been to the melting pot many times and not everyone their dresses up, theres not a dress code or anything. I live in chicago tho so i do not know if the one by you is diff.

  2. There is no real dress code so jeans and polo or t-shirt will be ok.  But you might be out of place in the party.  You should ask your best friend's boyfriend whether it's casual, business casual, or semi-formal.  It sucks to be the only one not dressed up in a party full of people who are dressed up (happened to me, no one told me it was semi formal.  Went in jeans and shirt and people kept asking why didn't you dress up.  Very annoying).  I would just bring a dress that I can change into or something a little more dressier.

  3. jeans are fine but dress them up w/a nice top and shoes.  its not fancy but you will feel a little underdressed since its a party and its not exactly mcdonalds.  lol.   its very yummy to.  and quite a nice experience.  i love the melting pot.

  4. I wouldn't wear jeans and a t-shirt.  Bring something to change into, or just wear something dressier to leave collge.  Maybe some black pants and a cute top.  That will be just as comfortable to travel in as jeans.

  5. I think you would feel out of place.  This is a very expensive restaurant and most people would dress up somewhat but I doubt there will be many t-shirts or polo shirts.  Bring a change of clothes and stop somewhere and change before you get there.
