Dress making ideas/patterns?

Question

Does anyone know any way I can get free patterns for dress making like downloads/printable stuff?

I'm not too good so easy stuff wuld be best. Any links?

This link has some beautiful patterns some are not suitable for a beginner though, so do check the skill levels.  Remember that shop bought patterns do have instructions on them and these assume you have a little knowledge.

As a beginner, you might want to use a cheap plain polycotton for a first attempt, even if you would never wear the pattern/colour.  The stretchier and silkier a fabric the harder it will be to work with at first.

If you could manage to go to one of the big, country-wide exhibitions `Creative Stitches,  i.e.B`ham, London M`chester & lots more, there are workshops which demonstrate how to make your own patterns.  I don`t know whether Betty Foster still does them, I believe she was excellent.

It's difficult to print out downloaded dress patterns because computer printers don't handle paper that large. Free clothing patterns also are hard to find; professional designers have to be paid somehow.

I use this program to make hats, purses, etc. and its free!

They print on multiple pages, but its easy to piece together, cause there are markers in the corners to match them up.  I know, I've used the patterns on the wildginger.com
