Dressage saddle use?

Probably a really stupid question, but i am just wondering. In English pleasure or english Walk/trot classes, can you use a dressage saddle? Or can you only use a dressage saddle in dressage?

In schooling shows, where they normally hold beginner classes, using a dressage saddle shouldn't be a problem.  I also believe that Open English Pleasure classes shouldn't be a problem either because that also incorporates saddle seat horses along with hunt seat horses so what's a dressage horse more or less in the class?

umm depends on what kind of show you are at. but most likely you can. cuz the other type of saddle is a jumping saddle and that is usually used for stadiun or cross country.

In the U.K. the saddle is your choice.  Obviously for any dressage class a dressage saddle looks more professional, shows of your seat, and helps you to sit correctly.  If you intend to continue with dressage (and you should!) then it wouldn't be a bad thing to invest in a saddle, but make sure you check it regularly because your horse will change shape as his outline starts to alter.  Good luck!
