Drew McIntyre vs. Christian on Friday Night Smack Down
It was a strange sight as wrestling fans were holding banners which read “Deport Drew”. The previous Inter Continental Champion was deported to his native country, Scotland after authorities found out that his visa for the United States had expired.
Drew McIntyre, who is one of the most arrogant and brutal wresters in the professional wrestling world, returned to the ring to create a huge impact. The biggest challenge for him on his arrival was to participate in the Money in the Bank ladder Match. There was only one spot left and the Manager of Friday Night Smack Down made the stipulation that Drew McIntyre could only participate in the match if he beats the current Inter Continental Champion, Kofi Kingston. Drew McIntyre gave it his all to win the match and cemented his spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
The next challenge for Drew McIntyre was to gain momentum. He received the opportunity when it was announced that Drew McIntyre would face the Captain Charisma, Christian in a one-on-one singles wrestling match. Christian is a veteran wrestler and has held many titles in the world of professional wrestling. However, Christian never won the title of WWE Champion or the World Heavy Weight Champion during his career. This was his golden opportunity to gain some momentum before he goes into the Money in the Bank ladder Match.
The match started as Drew McIntyre used his dominant and assertive style. Drew McIntyre delivered a kick to the abdomen of Christian and then delivered punches to his neck and his back. But Christian who is a veteran wrestler replied to this attack as he kicked the back of the head of Drew McIntyre. The heat was on as both wrestlers fought for dominance, prestige and glory. Christian flied through the air from the top turn buckle and landed on Drew McIntyre. Drew McIntyre fell on the concrete floor and became vulnerable from the attacks of Christian. Afterwards, Christian climbed the steel ring post and delivered a cross body on Drew McIntyre. Christian went for the cover but Drew McIntyre kicked out before the referee could count to three.
Then Christian delivered an elbow to the face of Drew McIntyre and started climbing the steel ring post to execute a missile drop kick. But when Christian was on the second step, Drew McIntyre showed his wild side and pushed back Christian. He was pushed so hard that Christian rolled back in the air and banged his face on the corner of the ring. Christian stopped rolling when his body hit the concrete steel floor. Christian seemed to be down and out as there was almost no way that any wrestler could withstand such a hard blow. But then the fans started to cheer for Christian as he showed courage and resilience and got back in the ring before the referee could count to three and disqualify him.
Then Drew McIntyre disregarded the rules of professional wrestling and delivered his thumb to the eye of Christian. Christian fell backwards as he was unable to see the proceedings in the ring. That was the ideal time for Drew McIntyre to execute his wrestling finisher. Drew McIntyre grabbed the body of Christian and banged his head hard on the ring floor. And then it all ended as Drew McIntyre went for the cover on Christian and the referee counted three with both shoulders of his opponent touching the ring floor.
That was a huge win for Drew McIntyre as he prepares himself for the brutal Money in the Bank Ladder match. But more importantly, those fans who did not like Drew McIntyre because of his arrogant and menacing behaviour applauded him on this win. It will be 8 wrestlers, a lot of ladders and one briefcase as wrestlers collide in the Money in the Bank Ladder match in one days time.
