Drew McIntyre vs. Matt Hardy on Smack Down
The feud between Drew McIntyre and Matt Hardy has captured the attention of many wrestling fans around the world. The feud has been brutal and characterized by aggressiveness from both sides. The feud started when Drew McIntyre placed Matt Hardy’s head on some steel steps and kicked hard at Hardy’s temple. This was a devastating blow as Hardy was knocked unconsciousness after the brutal attack. Drew McIntyre who has important contacts in the wrestling establishment went on to get Matt Hardy suspended from Friday Night Smack Down for a couple of weeks.
Matt Hardy got his revenge when he fought Drew in the viewer’s choice episode of Monday Night RAW and defeated him after a grueling match. Both wrestlers then participated in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match but failed to retrieve the briefcase. This was an important match for Drew McIntyre who defeated Christian two weeks ago but lost at the hands of Rey Mysterio last week in the main event of Smack Down.
Drew needed to prove to wrestling fans that he has what it takes to fight in the big league and compete for the World heavy Weight Championship. Matt Hardy also had his reputation at stake as he wanted to prove that he could defeat Drew McIntyre any place, any time.
The match started as Drew McIntyre raised his leg and tried to deliver a kick to Matt Hardy’s face. Matt Hardy quickly moved back and punched Drew hard on his jaw. It was an explosive start to the match as both wrestlers did not waste any time in conventional grappling techniques. Drew replied as he kicked hard on Hardy’s abdomen and then smashed his back on the ring floor. Despite the offensive push by Drew, the crowd was chanting in favour of Matt Hardy. No one seemed to like the sinister, Scotsman.
Drew then quickly cornered Matt Hardy and delivered kicks on different parts of Hardy’s abdomen. Matt Hardy changed the momentum of the match as he delivered a huge clothesline and tossed Drew outside the ring and on to the concrete floor. Both wrestlers then fought their battle of supremacy outside the ring and tried to rip each other apart. Drew dominated the fight on the concrete floor as he grabbed Matt Hardy and banged him on the boundary wall. Hardy then delivered a huge blow as he grabbed McIntyre by his shoulders and banged his back on the concrete floor.
Drew screamed in extreme pain as the crowd cheered for Hardy. It seemed that Hardy would finish the rivalry forever after executing a few more hard core moves. Hardy rolled McIntyre in to the ring to finish the match. He went for the cover and the referee started counting to three. But just when the referee’s hand was about to touch the ring floor to finish the match, Drew McIntyre kicked out. All Hardys fans were astonished on the display of bravery and strength by Drew McIntyre.
Drew McIntyre grabbed Matt Hardy from his arms and prepared to shake the ground by delivering his wrestling finisher called the Future Shock D. D. T. Wrestling fans witnessed the impact of this as Drew banged Hardy’s head hard on to the ring floor. There was no chance for Hardy to kick out after receiving the Future Shock D. D. T. So Drew went for the cover and the referee counted to three with both Hardy’s shoulders touching the ring floor.
Drew McIntyre had won that match in a fair manner. This was not only a simple win as it was also an indicator that veteran wrestlers need to give way to more aggressive young wrestling superstars like Drew McIntyre. It would not be long before this sinister Scotsman beats up more wrestlers and begins fighting in the big league to win the World Heavy Weight Championship.
