The Belgian ace believes that the 21-year-old has a great future ahead and revealed that the youngster would become a great asset for the Dutch national team.

His good performances at Stadion Galgenwaard attracted interest from a host of European clubs. However, the 21-year-old
preferred to join the Eindhoven giants in the summer transfer window.
Mertens believes that the Dutch International has developed rapidly into one of the most promising young talents and admitted that the midfield ace has a lot of quality in his game.
“Strootman is a winner. He is strong in the duels, he is fit, has insight, has a good attitude and most importantly, he has the ability to score goals. In my opinion, he has everything. Kevin has taken three steps in one year. Of Utrecht to the Champions

The Belgian winger is himself in great form, having scored seven goals while also providing four assists in five games this season. The 24-year-old believes that providing assists is his role as he plays on the wing.
“The coach says that I am obsessed with scoring goals. However, as I play mainly on the flank so assists are more important”, Mertens concluded.
The highly-rated winger would be hoping that he plays an integral part in achieving success for his new side this season.
