Drill Mount eyeglass frames

My prescription from my eye doc is :

O. D. -6.00 -1.25 15

O. S. -5.00 -1.25 167

200

( progressive, no-line bi focals)

I took this prescription to a eyeglasses store and told the salesgirl I wanted Drill Mount rimless frames. She either said " You can't get this prescription into a drill-mount frame" or said "there are not any drill mount frames in stock right now that will fit this prescription"

Question: Is it possible that my prescription will not be able to fit into ANY drill mount frames ? I badly want drill mount rimless frames.

  1. You might be able to by getting hi-index lenses. The only problem is you are going  to have thick lenses.

The reason she told you you cannot get them is because, a drill mount frame have screws to keep them togther... having a high RX you will have alot of problems with the screws coming out and getting loss.

i would say not get a drill mount frame with that RX... but it is your choice

  2. I had a similar rx in a drill mount some 15 years ago....ask another opinion....
