Drill SGT. school ?

Question

My hubby just got orders for drill SGT. school I was wondering when do you find out where he would go after school does it depend on his current MOS or where the DS are needed?

We are active duty army.

i believe he can request where he wants to be but im sorry to hear about that because drill sgts. dont really have a lot of time for their familys.

He will be going to Fort Jackson for training. After he graduates he will go to one of the basic training posts - Fort Jackson is most likely since it is the largest. Also possible are Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Benning and possibly Fort Knox. Drill Sergeants are being taken out of the AIT environment which really limits other options.

I do wish you and him the best of luck. It is a tough job with some very long hours - without a doubt he'll need your support on it
