Drilling for oil?

Why is it that the environmentalists do not want America drilling for oil off our coasts, but find nothing wrong with other countries drilling off our coasts??

And until we do get an alternative fuel how do they want us to continue to produce enough electric to supply America without interuptions?

You are making the big mistake of thinking the eco-bigots are rational.  I'm sorry, I've found too many aren't.  Their emotions interfere with their reasoning and they stop short of realizing those obvious flaws in their rationale.

Who is drilling for oil off our coasts?    Cuba?   They are drilling for oil off THEIR coast!   No matter how much Cuba has pissed off the US government over the years, it still is its own country.   We had a chance to make it a state, but didn't.  

Hardly anywhere burns oil to make electricity anymore in the US and our grid is maxed out already as it is.   No more power can go over the lines so we'd better stop needing more or fork out tens of billions for new power lines.

BTW, I say drill off our coasts if they want.

They are against the pollution. There is a possibility of a "blowout" such as happened off the coast of California in the '60s.

The new technology has almost eliminated that problem. California used to be a good producer but the oil fields there are primarily for storage.

Also, when the fields are pumped, salt water is injected into the wells to eliminate the possibility of subsidence.

We are still pumping oil here but we have to ship it off-shore to get it refined since we've lost some refineries and the environmental restrictions make it economically restrictive to build new ones.

Anwar has a lot of oil in situ, but the environmentalists are against it, even though it would be a very small part that is affected.

Now with the "Climate Change" scam, the "Neo-Leftists" have found a drum they can beat and have enlisted the UN and the third world in their anti-US rhetoric.

actually the environmentalists dont want anybody drilling for oil anywhere. they realize however that they cant stop other countries from drilling, only the US. the problem with environmentalists is that they dont look onto the future, they only look at today.

Bill the truth is ....the oil companies are the "Environmentalist."

The truth is:  before drilling for oil begun.....NY and Penn, and Chicago was plagued  by earth quakes....drilling for oil to relieve the pressure.....stopped the earth quakes.

No so in Califronia....they would not allow drilling till the late 70's and still resist drilling......but the bad earth quakes have stopped.....they used to be annually, there.

Oil and high pressure gas, is something we have to get rid of if we want to live in peace and safety.

This is a billion year process......and with recent autos, the earth has got to a point in producing countries where life is good and not like before....

There are wells in Texas and Mexico (350 mi south of the border) that are over 25,000 years old.....yes with stone casing instead of pipe.....and still producing.  (see: R. Sterling, Sterling PetroChemical, Old Omec Site MEX.)

The first off shore oil will, can be seen in the picture section of the book "Eisenhower Declassified" an autobiography of a lot of events....that were declassified later.

The name of the first Off-shore well then (they registered it like a ship and then a oil well)  was "Mary Margret- #1"  (and "MM #2) and was drilled in the inter-coastal Federal waters in Louisiana and was given to the Navy (Army) to fuel ships for the coming WWII in 1937 in which the land based oil companies who controlled state politicians, were trying to sell their oil to the government for 3 times the going price.

That one oil well broke the back of that oil "crisis" at the time.

The next 5 off shore wells were drilled on the inter-coastal canal in Corpus Christi,Tex  at marker 46a  and become a filling station for the Navy Fleet, at C.C. Naval air station.

There were others in years later...in the Florida area for the ships there....This "Free oil program" was the idea of some shrimp boat operators who worked in the oil fields during the week.   And just got tee'ed off at the New York oil companies trying to hold up the American government.

In the early 50's one of the brothers (5) who were drilling the off shore wells.....because the cold war, drilled a mountain in Wyo. (longhorn)  to fuel the new "NORAD" center in the mountains in Colorado...giving them a personal supply of fuels to run their complex for years in case of atomic attack.

That brought in the concept of "slant-drilling."

Today that well fuel Denver cars....also,  where as before they had to truck the gas from S.Texas, from the same oil companies that caused the problem, before.

The guys that pulled this off did it for their American neighbors,  to keep them from getting ripped off, and did not ask a thing for it.  All the wells are still producing,  but there is lots more to the story..of coarse.

Its no joke......that is the real story,  in the investigative congressional record.....you will read about the guys who tried to scam America....but just got off with small fines.

Did you know they gave the Alaska Pipe line to England and British Petro......and England holds all the remaining leases in California, Az, New Mexico (including area 51) and parts of Utah, and Colorado.....?  When they  received the pipe line payed for by Americans.....The Oil was $9 dollars a barrel in 1991...then Bush....$50 dollars.....then another Bush $100+

This stuff comes out of the ground for free.  !!!   But when they hold all the production......$1000 a barrel of cheap.

If you think its the Arabs.......You are just silly.

ARAMCO's world offices are on the West Loop in Houston....not Saudi-Arabia, I said there is more to the story......

they may be forced to change their attitude(or maybe reason will prevail & we ignore them). China & India have recently signed a deal with cuba to extract the oil from under the Florida straits where the rad. libs. have prevented U.S. oil companys from drilling for years. also the Europeans are prospecting in the arctic.

its questionable if we can use it anyway because the same radical extremists have blocked the construction of any new refinerys in the U.S. for 20 years. maybe they will be happy when the terrorists finally succeed in blowing up a few of our old ones & we will have to do without for the 6 to10 years it will take to build new ones.

It is the Americanism. They want to rule the world with their power. They using U.N. and other helpline organizations as pawns to reach their goal. They never hesitate to kill the infants in the name of peace and by the support of U.N.

Who will punish them. Where is the United Nations principles.

Why not they imposing restrictions on Israel.

If United Nations is really good, then it can assure the children's future.Why it is mum and dead. Most of organizations are like this only. Their principles are like  show case dolls, they never speak.

Ted Kennedy has called Nantucket Sound near his Massachusetts estate “a national treasure” — but that didn’t stop the senator from having oil dumped from his yacht into its waters.

A local photographer spotted an oil slick coming from Kennedy’s yacht Mya as Kennedy and his guests left the vessel in a launch following a race that ended in Hyannis, the Cape Cod Today newspaper reported.

The lensman was so shocked that he rowed his dinghy out to question the crew member left aboard the yacht.

He asked the crewman, “What the h**l are you doing?”

The crewman said that diesel fuel had gotten into the bilge and he was told to dump it.

When the photographer pointed out that the yacht was moored in coastal waters near shellfish beds and people swimming, the crewman replied, “Whatever.”

Cape Cod Today published a photo showing the oil slick emanating from Mya.

As Newsmax reported earlier, Kennedy has opposed a proposal to construct a wind farm in Nantucket Sound to produce cheap, clean energy. Asked why, he said: “That’s where I sail.”
