  1. Oil exploration in the Artic is a hot potato. Oil reserves elsewhere in the world is depleting. So one has to move to more extreme environment such as the Artic. Here the oil operations are more difficult in addition to the ecosystem is more fragile here than elsewhere. So one has to limit one impact on the environment. Any spill of oil here will also need longer time degrade (its freezing thereby little degration).. So economically very good (loads of fossil fuel), but bad for the environment...

  2. drilling in the artic means to drill for oil in the artic.  it disturbs the wildlife there and depletes our oil reserve.

  3. No, it's not bad but it's just drilling for oil in the arctic because it might be abundant there. Also... There really isn't any ecosystem in a frozen wasteland.

Also. Don't use the "but what about the POLAR BEARS!" thing. It doesn't work. In the past 50 years, the polar bears have increased 5 fold despite what the media is saying. From 5000 to 25000 bears.

  4. im not sure but i think it may have to to with global warming and the depleation of oil

  5. it is simply when scientists use a a circular drill to drill deep down into the ice sheet so you get a large ice core (a pole of ice)

from this ice core they can work out how much of various elements were in the atmosphere at diffrent times in the past (genrally CO2) this has no real negitive effects, so no, its not a bad thing.

although drilling could also mean drilling for oil in the artic with could be seen as bad.

  6. im against it but its running my computer. or is it nuclear power thats powering my house?

  7. As the environmentalists have used the tortoise to stop all use of the lands in the west, the use of the polar bear will now be used to close off all the Artic to commercial use

Environmentalists tell us that humans are a cancer on the Earth and the Earth must rid itself of it in order to survive.

One volcano releases more poison onto the earth than thousands of years of human habitation
