My son is going to be in his 2nd year of Pop Warner football, he is changing from offensive guard and offensive tackle to playing either or both defensive safety and defensive middle linebacker... what should he be practicing MOST on to play his best and learn his new position from his previous year. Any tips or suggestions?

He is 7 and 2nd year playing, tiny might pop warner.

  1. Listen carefully, he's SEVEN!

    I say again, SEVEN

In the history of football, no seven year old has ever been recruited for a college scholarship, won a Heisman trophy, been drafted into the NFL, or made the Pro Bowl.

He should be doing whatever his coach wants him to do and having a lot of fun doing it.  He should not be concerned with statistics, 40 times, playing time, shoe or sports drink endorsements, or holding out for two orange slices at halftime.

  2. Nothing really, he is seven, just let him go out and have fun.  At that age it should only be about having fun.
