Drink Up Delwood stands first in the 480m Grade A1 Heat at Hall Green on Jan 27
Maintaining her own high standards of speed and stamina, Drink Up Delwood sealed a scrumptious win in the 480 metre long Grade A1 Heat, held at Hall Green on Friday, January 27, 2012.
Despite the fact that the b***h was favourite with 2 to 1 betting odds, she had to give an all out effort to secure the victory.
Si Senor’s daughter out of Delwood Karen faced stiff competition by the runner-up, however, P. A. Sallis’ trainee eventually grabbed the top place by a neck’s margin.
After stepping out of the trap, she took 28.99 seconds to reach the winning post.
Failing to finish within the bracket of 28 seconds, Rock It Ronan, secured second place on the table. He was carrying the winning chances of 9 to 2, starting off his act from the sixth trap.
Although, the son of Droopys Vieri out of Westmead Debbie, got crowded early on, he ran on to cover the area in 29.02 seconds.
The top three dogs arrived at the finishing point almost simultaneously. The third placed hound, Michaels Babe fell only a neck’s distance adrift of the runner-up.
The black dog, holding the winning possibility of 4 to 1, completed the area in 29.05 seconds. An early pace followed by a clear run helped him end up among the top-3.
Poirot managed to lock fourth position in the list. With the starting price of 9 to 2, S M Buckland’s dog commenced the act from the fifth trap.
Since the black dog got crowded in the middle, he remained 1 ¼ lengths behind Michaels Babe, clocking the preset distance in 29.15 seconds.
Finishing 0.01 seconds adrift of Poirot, Bens Nikita, took fifth position on the table. The black b***h, whose betting odds were 4 to 1, spent 29.16 seconds on the track, beating the back marker by 1 ¾ lengths.
The last position went to Caribbean Gem – the black dog with the winning probability of 5 to 1. Hades Rocket’s son out of Silky Princess was forced to check, wrapping up the affair in 29.30 seconds.
Drink Up Delwood lived up to her high reputation, and recorded her third consecutive victory. Although, she stayed out of action for almost five months, her speed in the previous two races was quite impressive.
