Question:

Drinkin whiskey every evening???

I drink 3 large shots of whiskey every evening to relax.. i workout in the gym every morning as well....3 large shots is equiv to little bit more than half pint..but less than pint...i mix whiskey with 7up...Is it good or no good...please advice.. i'm doing this for the last couple of months..

  3. Man, you do what makes you happy. When you start taking shots in the morning before you go to the gym in the morning then you have a problem. If having some whiskey in the evening helps you relax then drink whiskey in the evening. Moderation is key. It doesn't sound like you're getting **** face every evening; you just like to sit back and relax with a beverage. I like to have a scotch to relax, so I'm not the best advice giver on this topic but it boils down to one being happy and if you're happy then that's all that matters, man.

  4. Yeah, that's a hefty of booze to be drinking every day. I say have a pot of tea, that helps me chill. Maybe start off by limiting to 2 shots 3 times a week and you'll probably start feeling better.

  5. It sounds like your a functioning Alcoholic. My father used to drink whiskey like you do and he was a hard worker still worked out but he was an Alcoholic. he didn't figure that out until he got a DUI.

    He would buy it by the case when you start doing this you might have a problem.  

  6. It may not affect you now but it will later in life if you continue the practice.

    Alcohol in that quantity (depending on the proof 80% 100%) first affects the liver, skin, lungs  and to a lesser degree functions such as erections.  Not worth it.  Of course, this is with prolonged use.  Try to taper down some.

  7. It sounds like you can't relax without having several large drinks beforehand.  That's a bad sign, since relying on alcohol to adjust your mood is a first step to dependence and alcoholism.  It's doubly bad if you're drinking by yourself.

    Consider making your evening drinks a social thing and inviting friends over, or taking a hot shower in the evening and lounging around in a bath robe instead.  

    The best advice I can give you is to get a boyfriend/girlfriend and have s*x instead.  The health benefits of frequent, mutually pleasurable intercourse are numerous and well-documented.
