Question:

Drinking Alcohol after rinsing with Listerine?

Earlier this week i bought some listerine. Tonight was the first night that i've rinsed with it in quite sometime. Anyways, i rinsed with it and decided to go to bed but i couldn't sleep in the 5 minutes that i tried so i decided to do what i do on other sleepless nights, i got out a bottle of vodka and a can of pop (caffeine doesn't keep me awake, i'm kinda addicted) and i mixed probably two to three shots in that can (i mix things kinda strong). this was only 40 proof vodka and typically i taste the alcohol from it but a funny thing happened when i took a drink, i didn't taste the alcohol at all. I initially rinsed with listerine whitening pre-brush rinse, brushed for about two minutes and then rinsed with listerine tooth defense anticavity fluoride rinse.

I think it's kinda like when you drink orange juice after brushing/rinsing, the sodium lauryl sulfate enhances the bitterness and sourness of substances and gets rid of the sweetness. I'm not exactly sure how that would apply to alcohol but maybe it would. It could also be the fact that you're already used to the methanol. I dunno what it is but has anyone ever experienced this or had a similar thing happen? does anyone know why it happens?

Any help is appreciated
