Drinking at age 18 and over?

Question

Are military personel allowed to drink at the bar ON BASE under 18? Yes or no and what do you think on this matter? I will be going to bootcamp at the end of this month and i am wondering about alot, just curious! Please only answers to the question! NO lecturing!

depends on the state the bases usually abide by the state laws although most dont card. and i think if your old enough to die for your country someone should by your first round

if your old enough to buy a gun ,die for your country ,or decide the next leader of our country ,you should be able to drink alcohol.I don`t think on base you`ll have a problem with drinking .I used to go to the on base club in tyndall airforce base shooting pool with my friend he was 18 and in the army he never got asked any questions .i didn`t drink because i always drove us around. Legal or not there seams to be a understanding that if your in the millitary on a base and you wanna drink you can.at least back in 1995 there was anyway.If your stationed overseas its a non issue ,the usa is the only country i can think of with 21 for a drinking age.

No the FEDERAL drinking age is 21.  However, overseas where the age is 18 you can drink there.  There was a place where you could drink on base under the age of 21, it was in place to deter youths from going across the border to drink.  As far as what I think about it the drinking age and military service is that you shouldn't be able to drink or join the military until you are 21 years old.  I enlisted when I was 17 and got out as an officer at 27.  I believe that the military was the right decision for me however, for MOST that decision and the gravity of that decision are too much for an 18 year old to make.

I dated a army dude and they let them drink over seas since..The laws change and they get special treatment is YOUR own time.Oh..they have alot of hookers and that is how half of them cheat..

Oh..his best friend told me he cheated on me..So no more army dudes..Oh please wear condoms for those hookers too.

No, in the US it is illegal to drink anywhere if you are under the age of 21.
