  1. the legal drinking age i believe is 18. but I would say that as a 17 year old you would have no trouble getting served. I'm 21, and I´m in salamanca, Spain right now. of course no one has tried to i.d. me like they do in the states. and i don't figure they can really tell whether you look 18 or 17. they're really liberal about drinks. just don't get drunk hon.

  2. Legal buying age is 18.  Legal drinking age is 16.  When I was there recently, the only place I was ever asked for an ID was the American Bar.  Every other place was fine.

  3. The legal age to drink in Spain is 18 but you will have no trouble getting served. One thing I would advise though is to get a copy of your passport and take that out with you, keep your original in a safe in your room. You are required by law to carry identification with you at all times, and its better if you lose a copy when you are out drinking rather than your original passport.

  4. I lived in Madrid when I was 14,(late 60's) never had a problem getting served then.

  5. What really impressed me in Spain, is that alot of young people drink, but they dont act like a bunch of idiots like they do in this country. I was sitting in a huge park in Barcelona one time and their must of been a hundred young adults sitting around drinking and shootin the breeze I was just observing for a couple of hours and never saw anyone getting out of line or staggering around acting biligerant at all.

  6. Legally it's 18. In real world Spain, you'll see many 15 y.o kids drinking and smoking in the parks and bars anywhere in Spain.

I guess that answers your question.

Also, Anna is right about the papers stuff. At least theoritically. In real world, hehehe, don't worry about that.

  7. i lived in spain for 6 months and I was frequently at bars, clubs and restaurants and I have never seen anyone getting questioned about their age.  It might be alittle more difficult to by alcohol from retail places but i dont think you will have a problem ordering them.

  8. I don´t think they will know whether you are 17 or 18 years old.  They usually don´t ask for you i.d.

  9. Unfortunately is only 16 I believe...
