Drinking tolerance?

i am a 21 year old female who's never really drank much before.

i'm 5'0 and 100lbs.

just out of curiousity, how many shots of certain drinks (whether it's vodka, tequila, gin, rum, whisky, or beer) do you think i would be able to tolerate?

does the whole height to weight ratio thing matter?

  1. Yes your body mass definatly makes a difference.

The amount you drink and the speed that you drink must also be taken into consideration.

A good rule of thumb is max for you = 2 singles. After that one single an hour.

    But dont drink and drive.

  2. It depends how much you have eaten the day that you drink.

If you drink on an empty stomach then you are most likely not going to be able to handle much drink

(food soaks up the drink it your stomach causing you to not get as drunk as you would on an empty stomach)

    (",)

  3. 3 or 4 shots (within an hour's time) of 80 proof will get you legally impaired to drive.

Yes, the height/weight ratio is important. You could probably drink twice as much and still be standing, but why?

  4. Yes, ur mass matters. The bigger you are usually the more u can "handle". But don't think that ur not drunk.

I'm a big guy - 6'2" and 225+ - I can handle a lot more than u. But, if you take it easy and only have one drink per hour, u won't get drunk.

Think about this - one drink is - .2

legal limit for over 21 is - .8

  5. like 2 staight shots and ull start feeling light headed after 20 minutes. the thing about alohol is u dont feel it at first and think ur ok and jsut keep drinking, then ull FEEL it about 20-40 minutes later.

yes the weight thing matters, it will go through your body a whole lot faster and not having to have to go through muscle and weight will make it easier for acohol to go through your blood stream throughout your body

  6. by "tolerate" what do u mean...to get buzzed prolly 2, to get drunk prolly like 4, to black out prolly like 10

  7. probably a glass the height and weight thing does matter the less you weigh the less you can handle the more you weigh the more it takes

  8. height and weight make a difference.  In your case - keep it at 1-2.  That is the recommended to anyone though
