My husband and I are getting ready to go to Ireland and we are going to rent a car. We are planning on driving from Ennis to Dublin? How long will it take? After we arrive in Dublin, we are fllying out the next day to Paris.

What routes are most manageable?

  1. Ennis to Dublin is under 2 hours.  Driving in Ireland is pretty tricky, so give yourself plenty of time!

  2. search it in Google.com

  3. The best way to go is Ennis to Shannon follow the Limerick signs when you get to Limerick you are going to take the Dublin Road 7

So when you pass the Radisson hotel on your left you will be close to Limerick when you get to the first roundabout that takes you into Limerick follow going into Limerick city centre.  But stay in your left lane.  You will see the turn left for Dublin Road follow it right out of town it will eventually get to the highway it is the best route to Dublin because the road is one of the better.

if you get lost in Limerick just pull over and ask how do you get to the Dublin Road.

  4. Their is no way to drive from Ennis to Dublin in 2 hours if you are a visitor to Ireland This I cannot do and I am accustomed to driving there and rather than follow the Limerick route I  usually go via Co Galway route anyway allow at the very least 4 hours and Cead Mile Failte

  5. I'm not sure about the route, but from experience allow plenty of time.

Driving in Ireland (except on the motorways) takes longer than you think. Allow plenty of time and enjoy the views!
