We go to the drive in as a family every few weeks. Kids usually make it through the first movie and are out, lol. Recently the drive in hasnt had any kids friendly movies...Right now the first movie would be Pineapple Express rated R. DO you think we could take the kids to see that? It starts at 9pm. The kids bedtime is normally 730-8 so they will be sleeping very soon as we get there.

They are under 5 so they dont understand everything in the movies.

  1. Go for it, why not, I have learned that its not always about the kids, you need some adult time too.  At least the kids are with u, you know they are safe.

  2. i think it would be fine. i don't let my kids watch movies unless i have seen them, but this situation is different. they are so young, and like you said, they will be asleep anyway. have them take awarm bath to get drowsy and feed them real good before. i used to run my kids ragged during the day if i knew i was either leaving or taking them with me to a friends house, lol. that way i knew they would be out quick!!

  3. Are you in Vegas? o.o

    hmm.

Sounds like the drive in here, first movie is pineapple express at 8.

Can you just go to the second movie?

  4. no

i don't think you should because that would be a waste of their time

  5. I think it's safe, tired them out during the day, give them a warm bath feed them dinner and they'll fall asleep on the way to the movies.

  6. Oh pu-lease They dont know wat those things are.....I knew what s*x was wen I was 4 and I started masturbating when I was 3......Parents dont remember anything...

  7. I wouldn't do it.  The kids could end up staying awake or wake up, catching some very inappropriate material.  If you want to see an R - rated movie, get a babysitter to stay with the kids.

  8. um go for it.

  9. Don't do it... I remember explicitly not understanding things I watched at 5, but it stuck with me... and now looking back I can NOT believe some of the things I was exposed to, even if it was unintentionally-since my parents were watching it, it made it so there was the possibility that I could see/hear some things that nobody should be watching...

Don't waste your money on that. Like another answer said. Wait until they are asleep and rent a movie. There is an adorable movie called Life Is Beautiful that is sooo wonderful and won't rot your mind either.

  10. It is still inappropriate to take kids to a movie not rated for their age group.  They *might* sleep through - but they might also be faking, or they might wake up at an inappropriate moment.  thye may not understand everything yet, but they understand some things, and they get curious about what they don't understand.

If you wouldn't have s*x in the same room as your sleeping children, then don't let them sleep in the same room as an R-rated movie.

Either head home when the kids fall asleep, put them to bed, and rent a movie for you and your spouse to watch; or spend the money for a babysitter so you can have an adult date.
