what is a drive line fluid? in a car, where do you put the fluid in?

My guess would be they are talking about automatic transmission fluid.

I would have to agree with 45 cal. Most newer VW's (99.5 and up) don't have conventional dipsticks for the transmission. Most must be serviced by a dealership, as it requires a gravity feed system and must be at a specific temperature.
