Drive or fly to san diego??

Question

I am going alone in a 2001 honda civic. Im coming from san francisco and going down to san diego, I know that it would take 8 hrs or so to drive down there and only an hour to fly, but it would be nice to have a car when i get down there. I already have a place to stay, so no cost there. Do you think gas would be cheaper then a plane ticket roundtrip?

my Honda Civic broke down going over the Grape Vine.  boy i hated that Honda piece of sh**.  Fly and rent a decent car like a KIA when you get there.  Or really impress yours friends and rent a Bentley.  The will think you are Fab!

If you can't find someone to carpool and split gas with, then flying will be cheaper.

well if you can drive 4 hrs on a tank it will be what 35 bucks to fill your tank that mean 35x4=140 but like you said it is nice to have the car there. Whe you go to SD if you like sushi make sure you stop at sushi n joy in oceanside. Its right of the 78 the first exit on the freeway going toward escondido. you can eat and then the freeway is just right there for you to get on the 5 again. that place is sooo good i miss it so much. If you book your flight two weeks or a month ahead, it will be cheaper to fly to San Diego. As for transportation around the area, here are some helpful links.

$100?  I would just fly then if it's that cheap.  save urself the trouble.  just rent a car when u got there.
