  1. You have to be aware of two types of access rights. First is access to share directory. Second is access to file system. Both of them can be set on two different tabs of properties of the share in Computer Administration from Control Panel.

Additionally file access rights have to be set for hole tree - not only top directory. That you can to by go to Advanced option on access tab of directory properties, and set there that your setting should be followed recursively.

And remember that deny option means that even computer has access by other option, this one will overwrite granted access.

  3. Make full share.

  4. It sounds like you havent set permissions on the share, as in its shared but set as read only, if its XP there is a little tick box under the sharing tab that says allow network users to change my files.

Or if you really want to you can turn off the simple view and view the actual permissions, to do this go in to control pannel > folder options > View > scoll to the bottom of the list and untick "Use simple file sharing"

  5. are you just shairing the drives or do you have them mapped, if your just shairing them try mapping them.

    My Computer>

    Tools>

    Map Network Drives...

Click Browse and select the shaired items.

they will now appear in my computer.
