Driveline vibrations!

i have a 1989 Chevy Silverado...the truck drives awesome and it has a a brand new engine, tranny and rear end with 4:11's...now when im going about 100KMS/h and let off the gas really fast, you feel a serious vibration in the driveline....also there is a really fast "ticking" sound coming from the tranny, and it sounds almost identical to oil leaking past the valves on an engine...anyone have any idea's what this noise is and where the vibration is coming from? I mean, everything is brand new, it's kind of odd, but it's also a 700-R4 transmission and the old 700-R4 made the exact same noise...maybe it's just that type of tranny? Appreciate any idea's!

  1. Have you considered checking the U joints?

They make vibrations that people don't really notice until they break~

  2. If the drive shaft is out of balance you will get a vibration. See if a weight has come off. Also, check to see if the U-Joints are dry and lose.

  3. On the drive shaft there should be a weight.  Maybe check and see if it is still there, the shaft may balance out when your going faster, but lose balance and start to vibrate when it slows down.  The vibration would transfer into the transmition most likely.

  4. Is there a middle bearing on the driveshaft. If there is and went bad it will vibrate around 60-90 km/h
