Driven movie...F1 or Champ Car?

Question

Was the movie Driven supposed to take place in the world of F1 or Champ Car? I noticed that the cars were running slicks at certain points and ridged tires at others. Since the run ridged in F1 and slicks in Champ Car, I'm confused. Anyone know?

Definitely Champcar. F1 did not want any part of the movie.

i believe juan pablo montoya is also shown in the movie and so is tony kanaan. Montoya was a formula 1driver and i know tony kanaan is an indy driver. i think that movie just picked a bunch of drivers from all of the open wheel series and figured the average viewer wouldn't know the difference.

champ car and it was junk, and montoya came from champ car before he went to f1

Champ Car... I think so because they tried to make cars identical (paint schemes) to Champ Car... I believe they mention Max Papis as well...
