Driver's License Exchange in Canada

Question

I just moved to BC from Ontario. In Ontario I had my G1 (Learner's Permit) which you normally need to hold for 1 year until you can test for your G2 which is the next level and basically allows you to drive without supervision. In BC they use a different licensing system, I was wondering if anyone knew if I would need to start from scratch and do the knowledge test and than wait yet another year?
