Question:

Driver's License Question: Switching from Ontario to Alberta?

I have a valid Ontario driver's license. However, I've been a permanent resident of Alberta for about a year now. (I was a student who decided to stay here after I graduated). I don't own a car but have decided that I better get my license switched over. Because I've been here over a year, does that mean my Ontario license is no longer valid and they will make me re-apply (with testing and everything) for one in Alberta? (I visited Ontario a few times this year and wanted to be able to drive there).

  1. I highly doubt you'll have to be tested again, i think it's a fairly simple matter. Contact One Stop License Shop they'll be able to tell you what you would have to do and how much it will cost.
