Question:

Driver's Vision Test? (contact lenses)?

I'm 16 and want to take my drivers test. I know theirs a writing and vision test, right? I was told I had to wear contact lenses when I drive since my vision is really bad. Is it possible I will fail the vision test if I don't wear contact lenses? I haven't gotten them but want too. So I'm wondering if I should get contact lenses before I go get my license. Any helpful feedback is welcome. :)

  1. I didn't have a vision test for my driver's test, but I did have one for my permit test.

If it's for your driver's test, WEAR THEM! Because on your permit that you have a medical restriction if you failed it for your permit test.

If it's just for your permit, try both. See if you can pass without them or not.

But if it helps you see clearer, wear them. It's better to be safe than sorry.

  2. I know that the vision test I took at the DMV in California all they had you do was look at one of those charts with the letters on it and see if you could read the letters. It was pretty easy. If you need contacts to drive you are most likely required to wear them for your vision test.

    Good luck!

  3. Get tested at mv first  If you passed while wearing contacts and never told them  may be a problem To be safe call dmv

  4. dmv gives an eye test...you fail.no licence...wear them!

  5. you can were either contacts or glasses
