I reinstalled XP on my dell inspiron 1300, and have to recollect all the drivers.

I now have them all exept the DVD/CD drivers.

I need the drivers for watching DVD's, Opening CD's, and Writing them both.

Many thanks, Will.

  1. You shouldn't need specific drivers for your optical drive. You're probably missing the required codecs for viewing the various video formats. Install the latest K-Lite Codec Pack, which should resolve the issue.

  2. First thing is to check for updates

  3. Just go to the dell website and download. is your computer under warranty?? besides when you bought the computer didnt it come with cds..?? also when  you re-installed wasnt there a partition for the drivers?? next time make a partition when you first install the software and put all drivers there..

  4. Go to www.dell.co.uk

    Click onto Technical support

    Click on Drivers and downloads

  5. Use VLC and ImgBurn. Both are free and work really well.
