I was wondering what shaft you would recomend for irons. I am currently using stiff steel in an older set of Titleist. very accurate but I loose distance compared to the distance when trying a friends Callaways and Taylormade. I am seeing 15 to 20 yards more out of the newer irons with a wedge.

  1. For 105 clubhead speed the stiff sounds right for you.  The newer clubs will go a little further due to technology, but don't worry about distance - golf isn't about how far you can hit the ball, it's about how many times you hit it.

  2. For graphite shafts, Try either the:

    Dynamic Gold Black S

    or

    Rifle Project X 5.5 or 6.0

For Steel Shafts, Try either the:

    Dynamic Golf S300, S200

    or

    Rifle 5.5 or 6.0

These are the most popular shafts out for irons right now, or at least for the better players.

  3. Really the best way to find out is to get fitted , then they can tell you the correct shaft , with your swing speed you will probably be recommended some type of stiff or extra stiff steel shaft , but then you also need to take into account what type of trajectory you want on your shot as well , just curious what type of Titleist Irons are you playing , remember that some iron models do not have the same degrees as other models that might be the reason you see the difference in distance with your friends .

  4. If you swing 105, you need stiff shafts. The best steel shaft for you would probably be S300. You are probably getting more distance from your friends' wedge b/c of the advanced technology his clubs have and yours don't b/c they are older.

  5. stiff
