I have a Jack Nicklaus MV-20 Signature Series Driver and consistanly slice the ball. The driver has four adjustable srews at different lenghts. I have two short screws and two long screws. Where should I place the s***w to fix my problem?

  1. Bring the club to the pro shop and see who might be familiar with the weighting of the Nichlaus driver. Don't do it yourself unless you have supervision from one who knows the club.

  2. Go to their website, usually there's instruction there on how to place the screws to get either draw, neutral or fade bias.  If you bought the club new, it should've come with the instruction.

In general the toe should have least weight, and the heel (where the hosel joins to the shaft is) should have more weight.  The less weight on the toe the easier it is to close the club face on the down swing, producing square face on impact.

If you want to experiment, I suggest taking all the weights off, and start putting the short s***w first in the heel and progressing to the longer and heavier one.  Leave the toe alone, unless you feel that the club is too light, in that case put the small weight in the toe and the long weight in the heel.

  3. The web site should give you some insight on the proper alignment of the screws, if not, see a club pro, they can help and usually free of charge.
