Drivers Ed Problems when homeschooled?

Im homeschooled i live in New Mexico and i can get my permit when I turn 15 does anyone know how I can get my permit?

  1. There are PRIVATE driving schools that give STATE accredited Driver Ed programs for a huge fee.  And you have to pay the fee EVEN if you flunk the course!


  2. Well, it differs for every state, in NM, if you want to get a permit at 15, you must be enrolled in drivers ed. You can contact your traffic board and ask them for a list of approved schools and enroll. If you don't want to do that, then you'll have to wait until you are older to get that permit.

  3. Can you drive? Do you know the "rules of the road" in your state? Get the handbook from your state office and take the test. They don't care about your schooling; Jeeze, how do you think those loonies on the road got licenses.

  4. You will probably just need to take driver's ed. You can either do a homeschool version, like Driver's Ed in a Box, or enroll in a Driver's Training school. We have several around here because Driver's Ed is not offered in the public schools

    Just call your DOT or go to their website to find out how to go about getting your permit, because each state is a little different.
