  1. Thudfan is correct,  and I gave him a thumbs up for it.

What he is trying to say is that image B would be the safer,  but the way you show the vehicle is incorrect.    Better you would use the area more as a left turn lane,  keeping your vehicle aligned with the traffic and not overhanging into lanes on either side.   Additionally,  this would make your turn signals (you remembered them,  didn't you?)  more visible to all,  and make it easier for you to see the oncoming traffic.

  2. Neither one of those situations are very good for making a left turn.

In A, I don't want to be blocking traffic behind me.

In B, it looks like a left turn lane, but I would want to be able to get between those two lines and parallel to each, so that I am not sticking out in either direction of traffic...In this case, B would be the best option.

  3. I would wait and use position (A) and I would say that position (B) would be considered dangerous....

  4. you need to clear the lane, so position B would be best.  This way you're out of the way of other drivers and you don't get hit because people aren't paying attention to stopped cars.

  5. i can't see any image with any position A or B but the right answer for any situation is the driver moving in their own lane always has the right of way, so any turns or yielding are never assumed to give you the right of way, you must always assume the other cars in lane have the right to persist/way.
