  2. Hi,

When my husband got his licence (a couple of years now) He took a theory test and first had to pass. Then he could progress through the C Category (Rigid Type Truck/Trailer) test. Then he could progress to the C+E Category (Articulated Truck and Trailer) test.

C/C1's are the old names for the categories.

    Hope this helps

  3. Hi, yes you can take cat c on a cat b licences, you will then automatically get cat c1

If you look on your licence it should have C under your provisional entitlement.

    Edit - Loz S - cat c and c1 are current names for catergories actually http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Dri... :)

  4. HGV is now called LGV.

    - You will have to take Class B first

    -  Then Class C, Rigid vehicle

    -  Then you may upgrade to C+E (trailer type)

There is no need to take C1, It's like in a Coach, you do not need to do the minibus one first.

*** Post Script - You Must take theory test before Any form of training can begin. ***
