Car - Class B - Age 17

Quad - Class B1 - Age 17

Trailer - Class E - (general term)

LGV / PCV - Classes C,D,E

I have checked out several websites, and the age for driving LGV vehicles is 21, unless you are a member of the armed forces or similar government related body.

However, I have also heard people of 18 Learning to Drive the vehicles. If you are over 30, then there is a good chance that your licence will have more categories. (1997 - new law)

The sources where I have read or heard the information is below.

There is also a youutbe video, can't find it at the moment.

        * driving on a regular service where the route does not exceed 50km

        * driving a PCV constructed to carry no more than 16 passengers

        * the vehicle is operated under a public service vehicle (PSV) operator's licence or permit
