Driving License Question?

so here's the deal- I got all my driving time in and I just got my drivers license today! I am 17 and i will be 18 in like 6 months. I got my permit when I turned 16- rather then getting it when I was 15.

I live in Colorado (CO) and in my state they require that you have your license for 6 months before you drive anyone else in your vehicle (unless its an emergency or its a sibling!) but I am 17- and I heard from someone that the 6 month rule only applies to someone that gets their permit at 15 and their license at 16!

what is the deal with this!? can I drive others in my car!?
