I live in Texas and I need to know if I can drive a scooter/moped/motorcycle under 50cc without a license. I am under 18 and don't have a car license. If you can provide me the place in the Driver's Manual (DPS) where it points this out, that would be great.

  1. On page 1-5 of the Texas Drivers Handbook (http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/ftp/forms/D...

"Minimum ages... Motor-driven cycle of 250cc or less:

    a. 15 with Department approval for minor’s hardship license

    b. 15 with completion of an approved course of driver education (32 hours classroom and the 16-hour Department-approved Basic Motorcycle Operator Training Course"

    Hope this helps.

  2. The government is going to want their yearly fee for using roads we've already been taxed for, so yes, you will need a license. Be safe out there fellow Texan

  3. most states require you to have a permit to use any of those things. im assuming texas would be the same.
