I have recently bought a Corsa that has no power steering and I have never driven a car without it. I hear that at normal speed it's ok but parking and other manouevers are difficult. Any suggestions on how I can make the manouevering easier?

  1. Get a different car with power steering LOL.  But seriously I have no idea.

  2. whenever the car is rolling even slowly it makes it easier to turn.

  3. 1. always keep the tire pressure correct.

    2. give yourself extra room to maneuver your car.

    3. practice and  practice

  4. There is a difference between power and non power steering. However in a very short time you will get used to not having power steering.

    Ja.

  5. Simple....

Only turn the steering wheel when the car is moving.

The rolling wheels are much easier to turn, even if you are driving very slowly.

You can damage the steering if you turn too much when stationary.  (you can fail a driving test for doing this)

Many small cars dont have power steering.

I think you will get used to it, but I don;t think you will ever like it ....

    Good luck !

  6. use to own a limo and while i was on a job, the power steering went out... its the only car that I had to drive like that in my life

never again, i don't know if its because it was so big or they are all that way

the turning of the car was awful... driving straight was no problem but if you need a quick reaction on the road, it won't happen like you are use to.. making a regular turn to the right is very tough

your reactions are very slow because you must crank the car to get it to turn

by the time I got the limo home, my arms were sore...

if it happens to me again, i will beg and plead to get it fixed

great luck and if you don't get it fixed, you will get some great muscles

  7. I never had problems with this, if you are manouevering just keep the car moving by accelerating gently whilst steering, most people steer then move forwards, and find it hard.

  8. Just practice, what year is that car anyway I would take it to the shop and get it repaired since its not that safe to drive without power steering you won't be able to maneuver as quickly as if you had power steering.

  9. kepp your tyres properly inflated, and steer the way you were shown when learning. also make sure vehicle is moving however slowly and you should be ok. there should'nt be too much of a problem small car, light weight. and they used to manage this before power steering became so popular. look on the bright side - one less thing to go wrong!
