Driving age in California ?

i'm an international student and i'm going to start to study in a couple of weeks , i'm 17 right now, can i buy a car and drive ? and i have a driving license from my country btw

It's 16 for citizens with proper insurance coverage and schooling.

get a learners permit and California driving license first before you drive. The age is about 18 years old.

A provisional permit is issued If you are 15 ½ to 17 ½ years of age,  It might be easier if you wait until you're 18 but contact the California Department of Motor Vehicle. See the links.
